New High-Resolution U6 Camera
Our new U6 camera offers high-resolution imaging without compromising on frame rate. This current-generation camera delivers a 2.3 MP resolution at 160 frames per second, which can be increased to a maximum of 2320 frames per second with a reduced frame size. You can see all the camera specifications in the table below.
| Camera Resolution | 1920 × 1200 pixels (2.3 MP) |
|---|---|
| Maximum Camera Frame Rate | 2320 frames per second |
| Default Camera Frame Rate (full window) | 160 frames per second |
| Sensor Format | 1/2.3-inch |
| Pixel Bits | Mono 8-bit |
| Pixel Bits (maximum) | Mono 12-bit |
| Camera Interface/Power Supply | USB 3.0 |
| Signal-to-Noise at 541 nm | 40.2 dB |
| Dark Noise at 541 nm | 2.5 electrons |
The U6 camera is now the default camera offered with the 200, 400, and 500-series instruments and can be purchased at no additional cost relative to the U4 camera until the end of 2026. This high-resolution camera allows for clearer edge detection with more fitting points and higher-accuracy baseline placement.
The U4 camera is still available as a high-speed imaging option until at least the end of 2026. Other camera options are available upon request. If you have a specific camera specification you need to meet, contact us.
SpringDrop Feature
Also available with all 200, 400, and 500-series instruments is our all-new SpringDrop addition to the Microsyringe Fixture. Once a drop has been formed by either manual or automated dispensing, the needle needs to be lowered to the stage so the drop can be dispensed onto the sample surface. The SpringDrop design makes this process easy and repeatable for contact angle measurements. Stop height can be precisely adjusted using the Microsyringe Fixture thumbscrew. The springs also absorb some perturbations to the needle, leading to greater drop stability for surface and interfacial tension measurements.
The SpringDrop feature can easily be installed or removed for different applications.
The SpringDrop feature comes included with all new instruments and our Manual Dispensing Spares Kit.
We believe these product updates make our world-class instruments even better. As we look to the future for both updates and new products, our commitment to you is to deliver excellence and real, meaningful changes to your workflow.
